Advanced FileMaker Pro 6 Web Development
by Bob Bowers, Steve Lane, Moyer, Bowers

Text focuses on publishing FileMaker data to the World Wide Web. Introduces major web technologies that can be used with FileMaker and general principles of designing data-driven web applications. For users with intermediate-level FileMaker skills.

Reviewer: Michael Layne from Atlanta, GA United States
This is the second book I've read from these guys. If your a FileMaker developer wanting to get in touch with more web-centric technologies, this book not only explains how, but give you the background so you can cross-reference other sources. Good explanation of XML and XSLT with examples and the section on PHP should open up a whole new world if you're willing to live in a text editor. Good-bye CDML. Plenty of good examples, plain English, and their understanding of technology goes well beyond FileMaker.

Filemaker Pro 6 Developer's Guide to Xml/Xsl
by Beverly Voth

Reviewer: Ray Clements from Indianapolis, IN United States: I've read many books regarding FileMaker Pro. In the few that mention XML, it is an afterthought. Beverly Voth's book is in depth, detailed and formatted in a manner that makes it readable, understandable and usable to both novice and professional developers.

The page layouts and presentation of the code and formatting is first rate. I was able to put what I learned into practice on day one of reading the book. This is a must have for all FileMaker Pro Programmers. I've recommended it to all my programmers. I recommend it to all who plan to ride the wave of the future with FileMaker Pro's XML features.

Advanced FileMaker Pro 5.5 Techniques for Developers (With CD-ROM)
by Chris Moyer, Bob Bowers

Pushing the FMP Envelope, May 21, 2002 - Reviewer: Ilyse Kazar from New York, NY USA

Don't expect Moyer and Bowers to coddle you -- instead you will be presented with some challenging advanced material that will stretch your FileMaker chops.

Especially noteworthy is the excellent and in-depth chapter on Secure Login Systems (and sample files). This "how-to" will really help developers understand the benefits, as well as some of the potential pitfalls, of using a global log-in scheme, and there was a real need in the FMP community for professional-quality, advanced information on the topic (as well as for info on other topics that are covered).
