Add a button to the layout and link it to the script - or make it a single-step button with Go to Layout [ ]
Stick to what you don't know.

    Hi Gtanner,

Imagine you want to switch from Layout "a" from DB A to Layout "b" from DB B. The most appropriate method to achieve this is to add DB B as an external Date Source to DB A. You may do it from File/Manage/External Data Sources.

After that, You may use the script step "Open File" to open DB B from DB A.

I hope above does make sense. Please let me know if you need clarifications.

    Regards,
    Siroos Jafary

Let's say you want to go from a layout called StartHere in database Master, to a layout call EndHere in database Child.

In the Child database, you create a script called Go to End which has the script step: Go to Layout ["EndHere"]

In the Master database, you create a script called Go to End in Child which has the script step: Perform Script [ ]

When specifying which script to perform, you choose the Child file by adding a FileMaker Data Source.
And then choose the Go to End script in the Child database.

So what you are doing is calling a Child script from the Master file.
If there are no further script steps in the Master script, the script sequence will end in the Child file.

    Make sense?
