    Button Navigation

I am new to Filemaker although experienced with Microsoft Access.

I have three related tables each using an ID. All three tables appear in a layout which causes no problems and which I will call the combined layout.

Occasionally I want to go to the original table and want to go to the same ID in the original table as is current in the combined layout. I have a button for that purpose which opens the table, but, except when I am on the last entry, it does not open to the same ID that was current on the combined layout.

Similarly when I want to return from the table to the combined layout it does not return to the same ID that was current on the table.

How do I write a script to ensure that when I click the button the table (and later the combined layout) opens at the same ID?

    Many thanks,
    David

You must use the Go To Related Record script step (very often abbreviated as GTRR in forums and blogs) in the script. For example:
    Code:
Go to Related Record[From table: YourTargetTable; Using layout: YourTargetLayout]
Options exist to choose whether the found set includes just the target record, or all records in the target.

Thank you very much. It is just what I wanted.
