ODBC to DB2

Hello. I am an FMP 4 user, in a large IT shop. I also use the Excel ODBC "get data" function on my desktop to retrieve data from the Mainfame DB2. How can I do this with FMP ?
I'd really like to build a little FMP app that could fire off a DB2 query. Currently, I have to unload data from DB2, FTP it to a server where I can then load it into FMP -- and then have the app retrieve from FMP DB.
There must be a way to go directly DB2 (I hope). Any ideas ??

Check out the PDM plug-in - www.profdata.nl for Windows and www.rumora.nl for Mac.
