Japanese YEN dollar sign Problem
I have a big problem when I use the Japanese YEN Dollar sign in FileMaker Pro 5.x, it is able to store, print, input and view. But when I use it in calculation or validation it will be a big problem. I have set validation on field order currency must use the currency in customer database. When both are JPY (where Y is the japanese dollar sign),FileMaker said they are not match. But when both are USD then FileMaker accept. Any ideas?

Re: Japanese YEN dollar sign Problem
How about creating another field which is a combination field, used only for display purposes. The combination field is a calculation which put the number together with the "Y" This way you can still use you amount to calculate other things.
"Y" & Amount
(The calculation should be saved as Text)
