Kosmas is a cloud based, all-in-one construction management software application with over 75 modules built for specialty contractors to help them effectively manage, track, and execute their day-to-day activities. With over 30 third party integrations, Kosmas is a powerful tool for bookkeeping, management, quoting, invoicing, marketing, campaigns, inventory tracking, job costing, and many more.
Last summer, I had the opportunity to work with a team of FileMaker Developers at DocuWrx to add another feature to provide our users with a reliable and secure system to process, organize, and track business transactions in a simple but efficient manner. The product of this is a Point of Sale system which allows Kosmas users to initiate a credit card transaction from an Account, Project, Facility, Sales Order, Sales Invoice or Transaction record on a personal computer, tablet, or smartphone without having to leave the application.
For example, a field worker can now quickly process a payment on a tablet or phone by selecting an pre-populated account, swiping a debit/credit card, capturing the client’s signature, and making that information available to the client immediately via email. An office worker then gets access to the transactions details the moment it is processed and can select the correct source documents, create journal entries and allocations etc.
We built this system with our clients in mind. As a result, all transactions are of course sent through an SSL encrypted connection and is integrated with multiple payment processors like Stripe, First Data, Authorize.NET, Internet Secure and Real Ex. This allows clients to start using our system with their existing Merchant account by simply setting the API key provided to them in their company preferences in Kosmas.
Last, but not the least, our system is built to be secure with the help of the enhanced security features provided by FileMaker, Stripe, 360 Works, Goya and our own access check system. Hence, our clients can process transactions without ever having to worry about losing important payment information to malicious hackers. We look forward to adding more features to make this system even better for our clients.
