    500 error when answering post

    When I answer a question in a post, and submit it, I see a 500 error screen. If I look at the thread, my answer seems to be posted, but does not show up when I click New Posts or Activity Stream.

    I resubmit my post and it shows up in the thread as a duplicate. My question is "does everyone else see a duplicate?"

    I've seen similar chaos. 500 errors, can't get to second page of a multi-page thread, inconsistent appearance of things on activity stream, etc.

    Edited to Add: oh, and also being warned that by clicking "Quick post" I will be discarding changes that I've made on this page and asking if I want to stay on this page or leave page. If I opt to stay on this page, it doesn't continue in the attempt to post. Saying yes to leaving the page lets it post (without losing what I've written despite warning to the contrary).

    I am looking into this now...has to do with our major server update I am more than sure. Damn it, just when I thought everything was okay...I'll let you know when it is fixed until then please be patient. Also until then 500 errors on IIS will go away on a page refresh, just an FYI

    doughemi, I did see duplicates of the same post on a thread you contributed to (with different time stamps). It's happened to me that mine posts twice without me doing anything to cause it. I didn't compare with the activity list, but I DID notice that my ability to see posts depends on the viewing style (from the box on the lower left of the page) and whatever other settings I have set. i.e. I also can't go to a second page, nor do I see there is one, from the current default style. But setting it to the old-fashioned "Default Style" I do.

    Finally we have replicated the error and are working on a fix...gotta love IIS...NOT! Will let you know when we have a fix.

    OK I think we have it resolved...please let me know...apparently this old forum does not like PHP version 5.6!

    Just informed by LW Support that our current forum software needs to be upgraded as a result of age and the soon to be obsolete version of PHP that it runs on! GO figure, spend a small fortune for a server upgrade...Murphy's Law! There is good news the 500 errors should be gone!

    Just so everyone knows these are RARE experiences "2 in our logs in the past 4 months" and are a result of using IIS on our dedicated Liquid Web servers. We are working on obtaining new forum software which is can be costly. Because of the SSL HTTPS requirements of all new browser updates we are going to have to update irregardless...open for suggestions and donations
