    Relationship Help-Geneology Tree

    Hello,

I want to create a list in filemaker for a genealogical tree in which I can match the info of the mother and father with the son in one presentation, they've told me that I need to create one list on a sheet of excel with the hole info, but I don`t know how to create the relationships, neither what they have to contain so they can work out,

I moved your post to its own thread. You shouldn't add to a very old thread with a different topic.

Every record should be the record of a Person; you don't (necessarily) need more than one table. Each Person record should have a related Father record (which is also a record within the Person table but related via Father ID = Person ID; a different table occurrence of the same table); similarly, each Person record should have a related Mother record (same idea: Mother ID = Person ID).

If you also intend on tracking marriages, you may need an additional table to accommodate that (although the people being married are all still going to be records within the Person table).
